Cette journée d’étude fait suite au colloque organisé par l’équipe EHIC en 2019 « Contre-cartographies dans les Amériques, XVIème-XXIème siècle » qui a révélé tout le potentiel de cette thématique. Nous souhaiterions élargir la discussion aux autres continents dans une perspective comparative et multidisciplinaire.
Colloque international organisé par la Bibliothèque Mazarine et le Cultura Fonds (Dilbeek, Bruxelles), avec la collaboration du Musée Plantin-Moretus (Anvers).
Le colloque se tiendra à Toulouse Jean-Jaurès du 17 au 19 septembre 2020, sous le patronage de la Société d'Etudes du XVIIe siècle et de l'Université.
Les propositions de communication sont acceptées jusqu'à fin décembre 2019, et à adresser à florent.libralatlive.fr (remplacer at par @), sous la forme d'un titre et d'un synopsis d'une longueur maximale de 800 caractères, espaces compris.

This two-day conference aims to recover and put across the voices of women in France, Italy and across Europe who defied the existing order and the rules of society. It intends to recover the forgotten voices and experiences of these women, who might not have had a prominent role in their world during their lifetimes, but, nevertheless, contributed to shape our present.

Traditionally attributed to King Solomon and defined by Rabbi Akiva as the “Holy of Holies” among the sacred scriptures (Mishnah Yadayim 3:5), the Song of Songs is one of the most fascinating and controversial Biblical books. Fervently read and carefully explained, celebrated as a key to the supreme mystery of the union between God and men, the Song of Songs, the primary source for the Christian pervasive metaphor of the sacred marriage and eros, was a text crucial not only to the Middle Ages, but also to the Renaissance period.

How does literature respond to event(s), monumental changes, ruptures and transitions? This upcoming conference at Warwick University attempts to answer some of these questions.
The conference invites abstracts that address, but may not necessarily be restricted to, the following areas:

Cette séance se propose d’explorer com-ment les scripteurs et scriptrices d’Ancien Régime (auteurs masculins, féminins, anonymes) font parler les femmes dans leur oeuvre. Lorsque des personnages féminins prennent la parole au théâtre, en poésie ou dans des narrations, de quelle façon ces voix se distinguent-elles ou non de celles des protagonistes masculins?
Ces dernières années, les recherches sur les émotions n’ont eu cesse de se développer dans le domaine des études médiévales, littéraires et historiques et bien au-delà. En effet, la question des émotions, qui relève de celle des mentalités, paraît essentielle pour mieux appréhender l’objet que constitue toute œuvre littéraire, qu’elle soit fictionnelle ou réelle.
