Apparue à la fin des années 1970 avec le travail d’Eugène Green, puis de Philippe Lenaël, la mise en scène baroque cherche à retrouver les codes de jeu employés sur la scène française de la fin du XVIe siècle à la fin du XVIIe siècle (posture, déclamation, gestuelle) pour proposer des interprétations inédites des textes anciens.
