Prix XVIIe siècle

Appel à candidatures pour les ouvrages parus en 2024

Depuis 1984, la Société d’Etude du XVIIe siècle décerne, chaque année, un Prix XVIIe siècle assorti d’une somme de 2000 euros. Ayant pour but d’encourager la diffusion d’un savoir rigoureux auprès du plus large public, ce Prix récompense, sans exclusive de discipline, un ouvrage traitant du XVIIe siècle, paru l’année précédente.

Créé en 2017 et porté par le Comité d’histoire du ministère de la Culture, le Prix de thèse « Valois » Jeunes chercheuses et chercheurs a lancé sa 7e édition ce 2 avril 2024.

L’association Philippe Lescat, dédiée à la promotion de travaux musicologiques, offre en 2023 une aide de 500€ à un-e jeune chercheur-se pour publication de sa thèse, avec le soutien de l’association Musique ancienne en Sorbonne.

La thèse devra porter sur les thématiques suivantes, en lien avec l’œuvre de Philippe Lescat, musicologue (1955-2002), sur la période des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles en France :

*Musique religieuse instrumentale et vocale

*Musique instrumentale et vocale profane

*Pratiques, interprétation et traités musicaux

La Société d’étude du XVIIe siècle propose chaque année une aide à l’édition.

Celle-ci concerne des ouvrages de toute discipline, en langue française, portant sur la période 1580-1720.

Trois ouvrages, dont au moins une thèse, peuvent être subventionnés chaque année. Une préférence sera accordée aux ouvrages signés par un seul auteur.

Le montant maximum de l’aide accordée est de deux mille euros par titre.

Margarita M. Hanson Fund - subvention d'aide à la publication

La Société française de musicologie a reçu en 2021 un important legs de la musicologue britannique Margarita M. Hanson (Cuba 1919 – Paris 2020) pour subventionner « des livres, dans n’importe quelle langue, sur la musique française antérieure à 1750, ou sur la culture musicale française antérieure à 1750, ou la publication d’une importante édition de répertoires français antérieurs à 1750 ».

La Société d’étude du XVIIe siècle propose chaque année une aide à l’édition.

Celle-ci concerne des ouvrages de toute discipline, en langue française, portant sur la période 1580-1720.

Le CIREM 16-18 lance son concours 2022 pour des prix visant à soutenir les jeunes chercheur(e)s du regroupement: Le Prix pour le meilleur article (1500$), le Prix XVI-XVIII (1 250$), et la Bourse Hermès d'aide à la diffusion (750$).  Les critères d'éligibilité et les conditions des concours sont définis dans la section "Prix du CIREM 16-18". Date limite : 1e avril 2022.

Le Prix XVIIe siècle 2020 de la Société d’Etude du XVII^e siècle a été attribué à

Alexandre Maral et Valérie Carpentier-Vanhaverbeke

pour leur ouvrage

Antoine Coysevox (1640-1720). Le sculpteur du Grand Siècle, Avant-propos de Laurent Salomé, Préface de Geneviève Bresc-Bautier, Paris, Arthena, 2020.

Le Prix leur sera remis le samedi 25 septembre 2021 à Paris. Le Prix 2019 décerné à Yann Rodier pour Les Raisons de la haine, dont la célébration a été repoussée en raison de la pandémie, sera remis au même moment.

The Renaissance Society of America is pleased to announce that our 2021 Research Fellowships competition is now open. For the 2021 cycle, the RSA will award fellowships of $2,000 to scholars working in the field of Renaissance studies (1300–1700). Fellowships are made possible by donations and bequests from RSA members and by grants from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation.

The MLA International Bibliography is accepting applications for three-year field-bibliography fellowships. MLA field bibliographers examine scholarly materials and submit bibliographic and indexing information for citations in the Bibliography. Open to all MLA members, including graduate students, the 2020 fellowships will run from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2023.

The Newberry's Center for Renaissance Studies is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Mellon Summer Institute in French Paleography, to be held at the Newberry from July 6 to July 31, 2020. The institute will be led by Marc Smith, École Nationale des Chartes, Paris.

The Centre for French History and Culture of the University of St  Andrews (UK) invites applications for a Sabbatical Visiting Fellowship, to be taken up during either semester of the academic year 2019-20. It is envisaged the Fellowship will last 2-3 months (by negotiation).

Supported by "The Institut Français d’Amérique Fund,” the Society for French Historical Studies offers the Gilbert Chinard Fellowship and the Edouard Morot-Sir Fellowship (up to $1,500 per award) for maintenance during research in France for a period of at least one month.  Whereas the Chinard will support research in all areas of French historical and cultural studies, the Morot-Sir will give preference to young scholars working in a broadly defined field of cultural history, art history, or literary studies.

The Society for French Studies wishes to remind colleagues that it is still accepting applications for the 2018 Visiting International Fellowship scheme. In light of the recent industrial action, the deadline for this round has been extended to 30 April 2018.
