Following the move of the SE17 website to a new server (earlymodernfrance.org, a.k.a, se17.bowdoin.edu), we have learned that many people were not recieving the digest that is emailed on the 1st and 15th of each month.
Our system server managers have resolved the issue in the mail system and a digest should appear in your Inbox soon. The normal mail schedule wiil resume on April 1.
Applications are invited for the Powys Roberts Research Fellowship in European Literature at St Hugh’s College, Oxford, tenable from 1st October 2018. This is a fixed-term 3 year position intended for an individual who has recently completed a doctorate (that is, who has either submitted their thesis by the application deadline of 30th April 2018, or whose degree was awarded within the three preceding years), and who wishes to embark on an academic career.
The Association of Print Scholars invites thematic proposals for its sponsored session at the 2019 CAA conference to be held in New York, February 13-16, 2019.
The APS-sponsored session may be related to any period, theme, or aspect of print scholarship. We encourage proposals that transcend chronological or geographic boundaries, as well as those that engage current theoretical interests in materialism, archival theory, bibliographic studies, history of ideas, or social history, including feminisms and critical race studies.

The Department of Modern Languages at Kansas State University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of French for a one-year appointment, beginning in fall 2018. We seek a generalist with experience teaching beginner- and intermediate-level French language courses. Teaching load is 3/3 per academic year, including Composition and Grammar. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to integrate and teach literature and culture at all levels (from elementary language to advanced undergraduate courses). Minimum qualifications include: ABD or Ph.D.

Dans le cadre du programme « Ruptures » de l’équipe de recherche LÉMIC (Littérature – Étrangéité – Mutations – Identités culturelles)
Cette journée d’études s’inscrit dans le programme des rencontres scientifiques « Ruptures » de l’équipe de recherche pluridisciplinaire LÉMIC, inauguré par deux Journées d’études « Ruptures : Approches méthodologiques » (17 novembre 2017 et 15 juin 2018).
La Société française d’onomastique (SFO) a pour but de « favoriser l’avancement de la science dans le domaine de la toponymie et de l’anthroponymie, de coordonner les travaux des spécialistes de ces disciplines et d’établir un fichier central des noms de lieux et de personnes de la France. » Depuis 1983, pour mener à bien sa mission, elle publie tous les ans une revue qui a pour titre la Nouvelle Revue d’Onomastique.
Cette cinquième journée d’étude en résonance avec la Biennale de la danse se focalisera sur les images de la danse, c’est-à-dire sur un ensemble d’images, fixes ou mobiles - envisagées dans la diversité de leurs supports (tableaux, photos, vidéos, etc.), à la fois medium et signes iconiques - qui apparaissent dans le cadre de processus de création, de transmission, de diffusion de la danse ; des images, donc, dont il nous importe de problématiser les fonctions[1].
